We are pleased to share important news about the future of the Les Houches – Saint-Gervais ski area. A major investment program of €15 million has been approved to modernize and strengthen the ski domain between 2026 and 2030.

🚡 A Strong Commitment to Modernization

At a meeting held on Tuesday, February 24, the governing authority (SIVU “Domaine skiable Les Houches – Saint-Gervais”) unanimously approved an amendment to the public service agreement with the ski lift operating company. This amendment authorizes an additional €15.11 million (excluding tax) investment program over the next five years.

❄️ Significant Improvements Already Achieved

The ski area has benefited from major upgrades in recent years:

• €13.3 million invested since 2011 to modernize ski lifts and infrastructure

• €4.5 million invested in snowmaking systems, significantly improving snow reliability

• A dedicated water supply of 95,000 m³ per year, secured through a borehole approved in 2020, ensuring consistent ski operations

These investments have strengthened the reliability and quality of the ski experience.

🔧 Planned Investments (2026–2030)

The new program includes several key projects:

• 🚠 Prarion gondola renovation (€2.16M) – operational winter 2026–2027

• 🎿 Plancerts ski lift renovation (€0.13M) – operational winter 2026–2027

• 🚡 Replacement of Kandahar chairlift (€10.5M) – operational winter 2027–2028

• 🚠 Maisonneuve chairlift modernization (€1M) – operational winter 2029–2030

• 🔧 Bellevue cable car reinforcement work (€1M) – completed between 2026 and 2030

• ❄️ Continued improvements to snowmaking infrastructure and guest information systems

Goal: Improve comfort, increase reliability, and maintain the ski area’s attractiveness in a challenging climate environment.
