SKIING / SNOWBOARDING, YOGA, RELAXING, MASSAGE  ……what more could you want from a holiday?

Cold Fusion Chalets have partnered with Natalie Fox – Roxy Fitness ambassador and founder of YogaRama – to offer a mountain yoga getaway this April 2018.

Do you fancy experiencing a holiday where the emphasis is on relaxation and replenishment, nourishing and health conscious food, as well as spending as much time as possible on the slopes, skiing or snowboarding? If so, this is the holiday for you.

Whether you’re a seasoned skier looking for a healthier alternative to a chalet holiday or are new to the mountain lifestyle, we are here to support and arrange everything you need to make your snow time as enjoyable as possible.

We will practice daily yoga; in the morning to warm up and in the afternoon or evening to wind down.  It’s the perfect way to wake up the muscles and focus the mind before heading out; and to release any tension built up through physical exertion when you return from the mountain.

Also included are meditation, pranayama and yoga nidra sessions so you can feel the full benefits of different yoga techniques designed to energise the body, calm the mind, and nourish the soul.

Talking of nourishment, we have put together the ultimate menu for well being – healthy, vegetarian and decidedly delicious, you don’t have to worry about the usual bread, wine and cheese because we will be serving you wholesome and nutritious meals that will leave you feeling suitably energised and not sluggish.  But don’t worry there’ll be some (healthy) treats in there too.  And if you fancy a glass of wine a dinner, we totally support you in whatever makes you feel good!

Depending on your ski or boarding level we can arrange lessons, off piste guiding or you are free to roam on your own.  We have a Cold Fusion suggested itinerary (that is subject to change and according to conditions) which you are more than welcome to follow but whatever you decide we will accommodate.  It’s a great way to meet other skiers and snowboarders, who are also interested in a healthier style of snow holiday.  There’ll be one full free day so you are able to sample some of the local cuisine, take time out or enjoy plenty of other activities that are in the area such as snowshoeing, cross country skiing, stand up paddle board and mountain biking.

Whether you’re a seasoned yogi or complete beginner, our qualified and experienced yoga instructor has designed a bespoke programme, and is on hand to guide you through both Yin and Yang sessions specifically for snow sports.

YOGA & SKI DAILY ROUTINE
AM SNOW FLOW: We begin our days with a morning ritual of Vinyasa Yoga, a dynamic flow waking up all the muscles we will using on our board or skis.  Drawing into a centre space with our breath, it is the best way to get us focussed, flexible and calm for an action packed day on the mountain. This dynamic style is specifically designed as a warm up for the movements we will be exploring on the slopes.
PM WIND DOWN WITH YIN: In the afternoon, we have yin yoga, the perfect way to stretch out tired and aching body parts, rooted in relaxation and with an absence of standing postures.  The afternoon class is more about winding down with an easier session designed to stretch out the muscles used in the day’s activities and usually incorporating elements of meditation.

Sample day:

8am Morning yang yoga (dynamic vinyasa “snow flow”)
9.30am Healthy vegetarian breakfast with hot option, fresh juice/smoothie, homemade muesli etc
10.30am Lift to the slopes (either Avoriaz or Les Gets)
Time on the mountain with lessons, guiding or exploring
1pm Group meet for a picnic lunch somewhere spectacularly scenic
2pm Free time to ski more or head back to the chalet to chill, with afternoon pick up approx 3.30pm
4pm Yin yoga (gentle and restorative)
5.30pm Time for hot tub, shopping, reading, relaxing or a sunset walking meditation to the local waterfall
7pm Healthy and delicious 3 course vegetarian meal
8.30pm Yoga nidra (guided sleep meditation)
NOURISHMENT

Food is at the center of everything we do. Everything rotates around what we put into our bodies.  We all know what we put in we get out, so we will be putting in lots of the good stuff!

We provide three delicious meals a day; a breakfast buffet, lunchtime picnic and three course evening meal.  You’ll always have enough and you will have the right fuel for the activities involved with our specially designed menu for the duration of your stay. You will have had a detox whilst still having that yummy holiday feeling of eating lots of delicious meals and treats. The food is hearty, vegetarian and organic where possible.  There are additional guilt free snacks available for lunchtime tea so you won’t ever feel you’re missing out.  We do agree with “everything in moderation”, so we also have one evening out with a chance to sample the local cheese and wine!

Our menus are designed by our Head Chef Andrew Greenwood.  Most of the food will be gluten and dairy-free with a few exceptions where we will clearly tell you. We’re proud most food is locally sourced, seasonal and organic where possible.
