SUMMER ACTIVITIES
There are many activities available in Morzine and the surrounding area during the summer season, if you fancy trying something other than Mountain Biking:
Canyoning

Canyoning uses a variety of techniques that may include walking, scrambling, climbing, jumping, abseiling, and/or swimming along the canyons of a mountain river. Accompanied by a professional guide, you will be provided with safety equipment such as a helmet and harness and will enjoy this exhilarating sport whilst admiring the scenery in a different way!
Climbing
As the birthplace of climbing, the Alps are a perfect place to enjoy this popular sport. Climb up and across some truly amazing rock faces in Morzine before reaching the summit to admire the breathtaking scenery and contemplate your descent. Guides and equipment can be arranged in resort.
Fantasticable
A favourite amongst adrenaline junkies, Fantasticable is an aerial runway that spans two valleys and sends you soaring between mountaintops head first and horizontally at speeds of up to 90kmph. Flying 1200 feet off the ground is sure to get the heart pumping!
Hydro speeding
Tackle the rapids of the River Dranse with a board in your hands and fins on your feet! Steer and propel yourself through pools of calm water before facing more challenging rapids as you descend the river Dranse. Advisable for strong swimmers.
Kayaking
Both kayaking and canoeing are available in Morzine, ranging from extreme descents down the river Dranse with a professional guide to leisurely paddles around one of the beautiful lakes in the area.
Parapenting
Enjoy the mountainous scenery from above with a memorable parapente flight. Flying in tandem with a qualified and experienced pilot, you will be strapped into a harness with the canopy on the ground behind you. As you start to jog down a gentle slope, the canopy will rise behind you and lift you into the air. Catching thermals, you will rise high into the sky where you will enjoy a breathtaking and surprisingly peaceful scenic flight. If you are feeling adventurous, you could always ask the pilot for a few spins to experience the acrobatic side to this amazing sport.
Road Cycling
This area is also popular for the unbeatable road riding around the beautiful alpine villages. There are endless routes and many tough cols including the 2003 Tour de France stage that finished in Morzine.
Swimming
Morzine has a fantastic outdoor Olympic swimming pool complex. You can also swim at the beautiful azure blue Lake Montriond that has a swimming area and also lovely grassy areas where you can picnic and relax.
Tennis
Near to the swimming complex are many hard tarmac tennis courts available for hire, along with equipment.
Via Ferrata

The Via Ferrata is a mountain route which is equipped with fixed cables, stemples, ladders, and bridges, designed during the war. Even if you are a beginner, you can enjoy some of the sensations and views enjoyed normally only by very experienced climbers. Accessible to almost everybody, the Via Ferrata’s enables people to move along these mountain routes with minimal equipment and climbing skills. Via Ferrata trips are fully guided.
White Water Sports

Flowing from Morzine to Lake Geneva, the River Dranse is the most popular White Water river in France.
